The Center of Planetary Surfaces (PDSSP) by the CNES and INSU regroups the entirety of French research institutes in planetary sciences. It was bron from the will to governover a variety of skills in France to index and promote various cartography toolls, as well as planetary data archive.
Currently, the center is divided in 4 groups, under the following themes:
- 1st Group : Community cartography
- 2nd Group : WMS/WCS standards application
- 3rd Group : VO setup and IVOA interoperability
- 4th group : DOI, NASA/ADS et archives
- 5th group : Hyperpsectral Data
